We arrived at Cowell on tuesday.....nice spot, but a bit windy.....Lennie checked out the weather and it was only to get better. We have been out fishing 2 days. The first 13 crabs and the 2nd 6 yellowfin whiting and 7 crabs. So guess what we have been eating......yummy! Tomorrow we will have on the shopping list ingredients for the Crab and camenbert quiche.
Lucky we had the 2 days out because it is windy and showery today, 34 knots gusts to 57 knots not good for boating.

Len and I had a drive out to the Lincoln Nat Park, it was a good day although a little windy. Not all coast is like the photo, but many Nat.Pk camping spots and no swimming due to the big bities!
Joy and Leigh took us on a drive to Brenton's farm and on the way we went to Winter's Hill Lookout and the view was amazing.....it was had to get some people to sit still for the photo shoot.
Our days drive took us to Coffin Bay for morning tea, and then to Farm Beach (very close to where the movie Gallopli was shot), Dutton Bay and the little shacks for family hols.
We went to the farm and had a cuppa with Brenton and Cathy a chat and more laughs. As we left there was a thunderstorm to the East, we drove towards the storm, but the roads led away it was to the North.
Very nicely chauffeured by Joy, thank you.
Tunarama was on for the 4 days over Australia Day weekend. Joy, Leigh Judy and Len went to the street parade and met Felicity, Ian and grand daughter Nellie (who has now celebrated her birthday Fri 3.2.12 - Happy Birthday Nellie). We wandered through the stalls and had lunch. Then, off to Flic and Ian's for a swim and BBQ before going back down town to watch the fireworks a great display (and no wind). Another great day. We had a great meal at Del Giorno's and I had the best salt and pepper squid ever. The only set back was Leigh's seafood chowder ( A mussel was full of mud! at least not bad. I think it did spoil the after taste of his meal and waiter was too quick to defend not knowing the mussels and not to offer a complimentary coffee or drink for Leigh......it was still a great night...I think it was back home for some to do the Lochan Ora taste test.
Our last meal was a yummy lamb roast dinner with good wine and great company thank you Joy and Leigh. Did I mention that the shank bone was taken off early and Leigh was late getting home - who ate the bone!

Our return to Tumby Bay
We have arrived back in Tumby Bay after spending special times with family and friends. The time has gone so fast and a message to the dear friends we didn't catch up with we are sorry, but that doesn't mean you aren't in our thoughts.
All is good with the 4wd and Tim and Tumby Bay has been a good temp. We have caught up with friends Joy and Leigh (from Port Lincoln) and having lots of laughs, good stories and a few lies....this has continued for a few days. A couple of times out on the water, but alas not a big catch a case of the loaves and the fishes.
We are now called the "Squatters" and are staying with Joy and Leigh in Port Lincoln.
Have driven through the Lincoln Nat. Park and then a BBQ for Australia Day. Thinking about everyone at home with the 41 degree heatwave as we had a 25 degree day. Hope you all keep smiling.

we are going home due to our need to be with friends
We have decided to return home a little earlier......Our dear friend Larry passed away from his brain tumour .....now our dear friend Lee of Lee and John that joined us in Esperance is coming to the end of her battle of her terminal cancer........so Len and I want to be with our friends and of course my mum could be tempted to have a hug.
We will back to our trip in Jan sometime as we were going home for Christmas anyway....so I am sure we will be able to catch up.
In Adelaide now on plane tomorrow.

Coffin Bay - what a name!
We have just spent 4 days in Coffin Bay - a nice place. We have driven out in the National Park (6 hour round trip) there is lots of rocks in South Australia.....makes for bumpy driving - but the sites were good. We drove on the 7 mile beach. The park had lots of dead trees.....now there are 3 sites for revegetation of the sheoaks as cattle, rabbits and kangaroos destroyed the new growth.
Locks Well
We stopped in at Locks Well after we left Elliston. It was amazing fishing spot at the bottom of 283 steps. We went for a look and walk down the hill...as the hill was too steep for Tim and vans had to be left at the top. A storm was brewing at the time and an amazing view.
